Gmail Users: If you find one of our newsletters in your promotions or spam folders, please move it to your primary folder, mark it not spam and add the From: address to your contacts list as soon as possible. Otherwise there is a better than average chance you will miss important updates.
When you visit my sites, keep in mind you are looking at 32 years of creative works. It is impossible to condense it all into a ten-word subject line, video title or tweet. To truly enjoy all we have to offer, it may take exploration and curiosity, two things Big Tech would be thrilled didn’t exist. What I can promise you is exploration and curiosity are rewarded here, and they always will be.
Keep in mind I’ve been publishing on the web longer than Google, MSN, Craigslist or Wikipedia. There are no ads, pop-ups, tracking scripts or annoyances on my web sites. Here you can explore in peace. Even on your phone. We value our guests.
Also keep in mind my sites are two-way communications platforms. You will find my email form in this site’s menu, which you can use to reach me any time. I also encourage you to comment on posts you receive in my newsletters. Tell us what you think! We’re all allowed to speak freely here.
Big Tech platforms have done everything they can to interfere with my email newsletter, my store and anything I post on platforms other than my own. They want control of me, my properties and my audience for two reasons: 1) they can’t do what I do and 2) they want their cut. They don’t want people like me to have an audience, especially one I’m not renting from them.
It is therefore my responsibility to make sure I can communicate with you reliably and directly. The only perfectly reliable way to maintain communications is for you to bookmark and visit this site regularly or for you to subscribe to my RSS feed. Currently those are the only two channels that can’t be tampered with by Big Tech. Yet.
We’re also facing email providers inserting “AI summaries” into my newsletters which may or may not be accurate and may include links that were modified without authorization.
We can no longer send colorful emails. We can’t post creative material on social media. We can’t publish our books on other web sites. When we do that we get delisted, shadowbanned, demonetized and silenced. At the moment the only platforms we can count on are third-party merchandise sellers, and it remains to be seen if they will continue to cooperate with us and our readers.
As a newsletter subscriber in the future you will receive brief text-only emails with a single link that will probably point at a URL that starts with ladystar.net. The reason is because ladystar.net is our oldest and most well-established domain. Big Tech platforms are looking for reasons to delete or hide email from small businesses like mine, so if we hand them an excuse (like linking from a newer domain with a colorful TLD) they’ll happily take advantage of it. In the meantime none of us will know it’s happening and you will simply be left to wonder why you aren’t getting any newsletters. The text-only email format fixes this, so you can continue to receive regular updates about my various projects.
All that said if you do discover email from me in a spam folder or otherwise hidden, marking that email as “not spam” is always helpful. Whitelisting domains like ladystar.net and lochlann.black also helps a great deal. I can’t guarantee Big Tech will listen to you, but I can guarantee that I will.
On my sites I make the creative decisions. So it is now here you will find my books, audiobooks, merchandise, art, animation, games and all the other fun surprises you used to find on our social media sites. We’re through decorating other people’s web sites for free and then having our work deleted.
I encourage you to subscribe to my RSS feed and check both this site and my video site for the latest news.
Starting February 1, 2026, the Committee to Ban Shane Lochlann Black is the primary canonical and official source for any material published by me, my studio or my store.
