Introducing Bitbook 2.0

I’m proud to announce we have designed and built a new platform for you. Up to now, when you bought from Getabook.today, you could only make one purchase at a time, and for digital purchases like ebooks and audiobooks, you would get a single download link in your email. That was the old store.

Watch, Read or Listen On-Demand

I’ve always believed we could do more, and now we have. Bitbook 2.0 was just advanced into beta. No longer are purchases limited to a single download. Now you have an active, dynamic library where you can download ebooks and audiobooks you’ve already purchased by simply requesting a link.

In the future, this will apply to web editions, streaming audiobooks and even streaming videobooks. All you will have to do is tap the book you want to read, watch or listen to, and you will have instant access, no download required.

Messaging

The new platform has a built-in messaging system with email notification. No longer are we limited by what outside email platforms allow. If you want true Five by Five news directly from the source, you’ll find it on your Bitbook messages page, complete with links to other vital information across our network without interference from third-party providers.

Shopping Cart

Bitbook 2.0 now has a first-class shopping cart, which means you are no longer limited to one-off purchases. It also means Getabook.today now controls all our book metadata and promotions. No more coupon codes. No more rotating buy links. No more confusion. Your discounts are right there in your cart, product by product. You make one payment and all your titles are activated instantly for download or scheduled for shipping.

A Vision Ten Years in the Making

I started building Getabook in 2016, fully aware if I relied on other companies for permission to sell my work it wouldn’t go well. This newsletter you are reading now, which also runs entirely off our own platform, was the result of my realization asking permission to talk to my own readers was also inadvisable. Now we’ve upgraded both to the point outside platforms are optional, but not required.

I was blessed by the fact I have formidable skills from my days as a contract programmer and systems administrator. When I started writing professionaly I put those skills to work as quickly as I could. My bookstore project got its start about the same time Strike Battleship Argent was published, which I believe is rather poetic, since Argent was my breakout title and is still my top seller.

In the future I want to create the ability for our readers to leave reviews title by title, and possibly to bring digital books obtained elsewhere to read on our platform instead of contending with apps and other inconveniences. My Library-Tron platform already accepts properly formatted ebooks and displays them in a readable form in your web browser. At the very least, it can make reading our books easier.

Jumpline Integration

Bitbook is closely integrated with Jumpline, which now serves as a single-field gateway not only to our network, but also to your account page. To log in to Bitbook 2.0 Beta, use the keyword “login” at jumpline [dot] click, then follow the instructions on the page. Use the e-mail address where you received this newsletter to receive your code. Then enter the emailed code at Jumpline to access your home page.

Enjoy Bitbook 2.0! We built it just for you.
